ESPN’s “SportsCenter” was the place where Keith Olbermann, Dan Patrick, and Craig Kilborn owned nighttime sports. It was a place of laughter, intelligence, and high-brow sports analogies in the mid-1990s. It was our Golden Age, and now it is lost in a sea of Scott Van Pelts, Mike and Mikes, and Stuart Scotts. Not good.

Keith Olbermann just took a job at Current TV, after getting fired/resigning from MSNBC because he pays money to causes he supports (which to be honest, makes us like him more, because we assume Rush Limbaugh is such a cheap motherf**king asshole, a hypocrite as well, that he doesn’t he give money to conservative causes … we digress).

(Olbermann donated $2,400 each to three Democratic candidates for Congress: Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway, and Arizona Democratic Representatives Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords.)

So anyway, this was the chance to make sports cool again, and it won’t happen. Isn’t it amazing that the mid-1990s was a time of intellect in sports…. it wasn’t that long ago. Then we went all JB, Terry, Jimmy and Howie… and the world just went to crap.
